What is Going on in the Den - September 24 - 28

posted Sep 22, 2018, 10:40 AM by Neil Hammond

Happy “Fall” Clarksdale Families,

Class Re-organizations

As we shared in earlier updates, the Ministry of Education has requirements for class ratios and organizations.  As such, re-organizations of classes are sometimes required after the start of classes, as registrations and numbers are confirmed. At Clarksdale, we did have to re-organize some of our classes and all families involved in these changes have been notified.  The changes will take place starting Tuesday, September 25th.

As a result of the changes, we welcome two new staff members to Clarksdale.  Ms. Evans is joining us in our 2/3 class and Ms. Eby is returning to Clarksdale as a planning and coverage teacher.

School Council Invitation

A reminder to all parents to consider joining our school council.  Nomination forms were sent home, and are due in the office by Friday, September 28th.  Our first council meeting will be held on Monday, October 1st, at 7:00pm.  Please consider joining this fun, enthusiastic and hardworking team!

Rowan’s Law – Wear purple

Mark your calendars!   Wednesday, September 26th is (#RowansLawDay) – a day to engage students, staff, coaches, and parents/guardians to increase awareness about concussions and to share Rowan Stringer’s story.

We invite all members of our school community to wear purple (Rowan’s favorite colour) on Rowan’s Law Day too!

This week, some of our ME2WE students attended the annual We Day in Toronto! It was a great day filled with inspirational speakers like Marc and Craig Kielburger - the founders of the program -, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lilly Singh (along with MANY others). As a treat, there were also many celebrity guests and performances. Be sure to watch for yourself on CTV November 24!
